Toddle In is a new, private childminding business run by myself, Lyndsey Andrew.  I have been involved in childcare for over 13 years. During this time I have worked as a private nanny and in several private day nurseries and so I understand fully the needs of a working family seeking childcare. I have worked as a childminder a few years ago but gave this up to work in a Nursery to obtain my Cache level 3 qualification in childcare. I recently finished work to take a career break and a new direction in my life.

I feel that childminding allows me to pursue my love of children and to maintain a professional working status. I am 29 years old and live with my husband and my Cat.  I live in Soham in a 3-bedroom semi-detached house.  The house is equipped with all the necessary safety adaptations for toddlers e.g. cupboard locks, stair gates, electric sockets, etc. We have a garden and park nearby for outdoor activities.

It is my main aim to provide the highest quality childminding service and I am able to do this by keeping the working ratio of minder:children low.  I will usually only look after 6 children at any one time, with only three children under 5 and one child being under the age of 12 months. I will produce written plans for your child showing how I will promote learning through fun, structured ‘play’ activities as well as allowing time in the day for independent play and response to spontaneous events, such as the arrival of snow, a spider catching a fly on a web close to the window etc!  I will also encourage children to interact with each other.  I will work according to the Early Foundation Stage (EYFS). I have a range of quality toys and books and lots of ideas for fun learning activities including regular outings.  I will also plan play activities in order to ensure your child develops emotionally, physically and socially. You will have access to evidence of your child’s learning as well as receiving general daily notes/verbal communication.  All other documentation required by OFSTED will be kept. 

I believe that the service I provide reflects the care I would expect my own children to receive.  Your child will be cared for in a safe, welcoming and above all learning environment.
